Always wanted one of these guys! Garden Eel ...

I was lucky enough to pick up a little (8") Garden Eel this weekend. I understand they're tough to keep ... hoping this guy does alright. He seems to like my deep sand bed (about 6" where he is now). Trying to keep an eye on him via FishCam ... he's very skittish, and hides when I walk by (or when other fish swim near). But VERY cute. Sorry this is a bit out of focus, snapped a pix as this was the first time I've seen him online! He's near a big piece of coral waving next to him ... looks sorta nice!

I always wanted one of those. I saw them in a magazine somewhere but never though they were reef safe. Very nice pic. I've been thinking about getting a blue spot jaw fish. I know he will stick his head out of the sand like that. But it is a jumper. Keep me posted please on how yours does. I may pick one up.

... I 'borrowed' the GOOD pix from Wikipedia! The out-of-focus one was the quick one I caught using FishCam! Lights are off now ... hopeing to snap a few good ones tomorrow. But yes, hoping he does well ...

yeap, they are so cute! (i got 3 of them from RedSand three months back...)

where do you get them? I know of many member wanted to get some too (after they saw them in my tank...)

They only had one left. So far, I've only seen him once! Likes to hide!

I really like these skinny eels -- hoping the Goby doesn't bully the yellow guy! Drove up to Greenwich Aquaria today ... they appear to be rare, when I heard they got a few in - zoom, we were there in an hour or so!

Yeah they're cool. Feng gets them at red sand in dunellen

... well, one down (I think). The yellow and white striped one (pictured above), jumped right out in front of me! I have an egg crate cover on the tank - that caught him, ran over to push him back in ... and he jumped into the overflow! NOW, I can't find him anywhere - saw him swim UP the return pipe ... and he hasn't arrived in the sump yet. Uugg ...
