Amphipods vs Copepods

I've had amphipods from the beginning, but there were times I thought I might have lost fish due to starvation. So i started seeding my tank with copepods- first tisbe, then a 3 variety blend. I read somewhere ( not sure if it's true ) that the amphipods eat the young copepods. Right now I don't have any fish that need to eat pods, some pick at rocks. I'm just looking for everyone's input, wondering if I need to keep adding copepods or not

Pods of any kind are great. They add to a bio diverse tank. I always keep adding.
Best clean up crew. Fish and corals will eat them.

Do you add specific ones or a mix, do you have a preferred providor- I've beeen buying on ebay- wonder if it's the best- prices are all over the place for pods- delivery cost in another consideration

I usually pick them up when I go to coral shows. I also get them from algea barn when they have a sale. Reef cleaners also has a bag full pods x

Amphipods will definitely eat copepods or complete for food and space, but will not wipe them out in my experience. My amphipods got wiped out and I found tisbe pods very easy to culture so I've been sticking with them. I now have a 5 gallon tall, low light tank that I only feed phyto and I just harvest pods once a week off the glass. By far the most low key culture and longest culture I've kept.
