Anemone Id

Can someone help me Id this anemone? and possibly help get rid of it?

Here is another specimen:

I have tons of them. Some in the overflow, a couple in the fuge and whole bunch of them in the sump. In the sump they are pretty much everywhere, on the skimmer, on the side wall, wires, pipes and all. Luckily none in the display.

Can some help me identify this animal and possibly get rid of it?

Thanks
arvind.

x 2. Never seen it looks pretty cool though. But the fact that you have that many make me think bad. Someone has to know this one.

Because the anemones that are hosts for clownfish almost never replicate and clone like this, I gotta say this is some type of hitcher anemone that you really want to stop from replicating further. While it is not in the display yet (to your eyes) it may also have a foothold on LR in areas you can't see. IF it is able to sting corals like aiptasia - you are in for trouble.

Best to nip the trouble first and kill them.

My 2 cents.

Did you try posting this on one of the bigger sites. Specifically RC. Maybe someone there can offer more info. Like I stated before, I agree with others I would start taking steps to remove.

Thanks Phil. I am going to clean up the sump and see if it stops spreading.

the other forum says it is aiptasia. It doesn't look like aiptasia to me. I have a couple of aiptasia in my overflow and they look entirely different. the aiptasia has a cylindrical body with tentacles coming out on top. anyway, i will do the aiptasia treatment and see if it goes away.
