Ya, this was a rough year for the tank, I definitely need to give it more attention next year starting this month, AKA water changes, regular feeding, dumping the skimmate out, LOL. I'm actually gonna try other corals this year, so I'm doing some trimming as soon as tonight. I figured I'll go ahead and take pics so I can remember how it looked like before the trim :)

I also switched back again to 6500 K's (some of the yesteryear's pics had 6500 lights in them too) to see some of that growth that I miss from last year. The tank looks yellow, but I think the corals love it....

the build/transfer thread for both tanks is on RC FYI :)

Tanks for looking :)

Very nice!! I like it a lots!!

we think we all should have something like this - take a full tank shot picture on every 1st of the month and post it some where in this site, for other to see the progress over time.

Merv, thanks for sharing...

Merv nice tank progression pics.. U are one also of the guys I admire when posting a FTS and growing SPS... The last shot really needs some TLC.. I hope all is well :)

ya I know, LOL. I really think the pulsing xenia has something to do with it. I'm actually posting the thing up for sale in the for sale section- I got it a few months back and I had already needed to scrape off like 5 new colonies off my glass and suck up 12 new babies floating around the corner right of the tank where all the detritus settles. No more pumping xenias for me! LOL

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Keep the Xenia, add some sand and step up the water changes. ;)

You need a couple of real big LPS to round things out! ;D

I'll echo the others, you have been an inspiration to me as well. Great pics!

Why would the xenia be negatively effecting the rest of the tank? Xenia seems pretty harmless to me, especially when isolated like you have it, and can even be very useful for nutrient export.

Just curious as to why you think that may be your problem..?

Oh, I'm familiar with that...just haven't heard of it with xenia. It's practically a seaweed. ;)

***shaking head**** Softies, Never thought I'd see the day.

well, you guys saw it OK? LOL

I'm surprised no one's asking about the sand which is sitting in a bucket on my porch, LOL... that was supposed to go in the tank like um, 3 months ago :D

Merv, I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again...and again...and again.

I LOVE YOUR TANK!

Every tank you've had looked simply stunning. And yes, you've inspired me too many times to count. :) Your "build threads" showed and taught me so much, too. Heck, I copied quite a few things from ya. :-[
