Guys my tank is running aroung 86 degrees.
Any idea how to lower it? I have turned the lights off and lowered the heat to 80 a few days ago. Do I really need a chiller or is there an easier way to drop the temp?
Do you have glass tops on the tank? if you do remove half of it and it will help that's what I did on my 46 Gal bow the temp drop 3 degr or use a fan to cool the tank, I use the clip on kind for my 29 gal and it works great.
in order to help out my tanks temparature and to help out myself, (since my tank is in my bedroom) I added a window a/c. I did it about an hour ago, tanks temp dropped three degrees so far. Should keep things cool, I'll find out tomorrow when the sun is up again.
The 65 in my bedroom got up to 86-87 degrees too. I turned on our AC and it's dropped back down to 80-81. The odd thing is, it didn't really feel like the room was getting that hot, but must have. I think I'm still going to pick up a clip on fan if I can find one (no luck at the Depot, Target or Lowes. I'll have to try Walmart).
Thanks everyone. I did the clip on fan. I cliped the fan onto my sump, set it on high. It cooled it off a few degrees. I also set my AC unit in my house at 82 during the day which also help out . Thanks again....
