The stand was going to ****, salt creep was finally taking it's toll on the cheaply made stand that came with the tank. Couldn't risk coming home to a flooded living room and broken tank.
 
You should've built another stand, I would've helped! did you keep everything or sell it off, but I agree coming home to a tank over the floor would be thousands of dollars in damage to both the tank and floors of your home. Hopefully you get back up and running soon

That was my initial plan, build a new stand and get everything organized and go with a bigger sump but I decided to go on a different route. What better time right? I did sell some stuff off, still have some skimmers I'm try to sell. I definitely will be back, taking my time with the new build though.
 
Never had a standard 55. Always thought it was to narrow. Here's my "minimalistic" look. Low central island. Hoping things grow and fill the upper parts of the tank.
