Auto Top Off Sensor Got Stuck...SG is now 1.023

In short, my auto top off sensor must have gotten stuck somehow and dumped my bucked of makeup water into the tank. By the time I noticed it and drained it down to level, my SG is now 1.023. What would be the most advisable way to bring my gravity back to normal?

no big deal. just get the sump back to normal level, take a cup of water out every hour or so and mix a small scoop of salt into the cup, then pour it back into the sump. just have to raise it back up slowly.

1.023 isn't that low. You should just be able to let the excess water evaporate and the sality will come back into range.

Yeah most fish stores are not even that high. Just let evaporation follow it's course till you get back to original levels.

i always test the SG of water in the bag when i get a new fish, just so i have an idea how much of change the fish is going to go thru, and it is usually very low

most fish stores keep salintity lower to avoid pest break outs. its a little trick they use. as for bringing up you salinity both meathods will work fine. just dont do anything to drastic to quickly.

:-\ Same thing happen to me. Drain some of the excess water and like some one else wrote bring back the salinity little by little. But what happen to me was that a snail climbed into the lever.
