Bad news but good news

So I was cleaning my tanks yesterday. I have a 2.5g tank in the girl's room with one fish in it. Their tank was in need of a good cleaning but I did too big of a cleaning.... lost their fish. Talking it over with the wife and the girls we are going to upgrade their tank from a 2.5g to a 10g and make it a saltwater fish only tank. I was just showing them images of firefish and they seem to like them.

Any ideas of other fish that I can put in a 10g? Could I get away with one clown fish?

Once the tank is up I will upload some images.

I had a 10gal IM with just one clown in it for years without any issues. A goby should work well as long as he has places to hide

Thinking of going bare bottom in this tank so doesn't a goby need sand?

some good choices. Got to see what the 'girls' like cause in the end its 'their' tank lol

Tank on dresser, some rocks in, heater, filter, and a pink treasure chest (the girls picked out) are in. Making water now and then will put the lid on. I am not a fan of the lid that came so I might change it out later.

I had a single clown and accessor Basslet and Helfrichi Firefish in a IM 8g Nuvo for a few years with out problems.
The clown stuck near the nem while the Firefish stayed out in the water column and the Basslet did it's upside down thing along the back wall and sides
