I will not go so far as to say the word hate....but I sure do dislike bears! Some stupid juvi decided to trash 8 nucs and topple 7 hives last night. He even had the balls to start to chew through the roof of my smaller chicken coop. Spent my morning helping VERY TICKED OFF bees before work. With young kids I was not into electric fencing and most of my hives are in my fenced back yard. So....Sat afternoon will be spent hot wiring a mini compound with enough juice to make an elephant ponder its ill ways and baiting the jerk with bacon grease on the wire to help bring about Jesus sightings.

Some of my favorite times in the backcountry revolve around bears! Momma and her cubs in Yosemite just yards from el capitan, grizzlies in the grand Tetons. Big momma bear and her cub in Yellowstone. They really are amazing animals! They do get cantankerous when they get used to being around humans though. Very smart animals. Just like yogi bear in jelly stone park, very inquisitive animals
