Brightwell xport blocks. I have (6) 8x8 blocks in my sump. My display is a 40B and the sump is a DIY 40B also. I have had the blocks in my sump since I started the system...that was back in Jan 2021. I have done 2 ICP tests and all is normal: meaning there is no aluminum or unwanted metals in my water. If you have Matrix in your sump, I would add more of it.

I have one of those marine pure blocks in an egg crate cage just because I needed a skimmer stand. I also have some Grungy bags of ceramic rings from my HOB days. Don't need it.

I have been hesitant to buy rocks from those I don't know how they treat their tank and/or if they have a pest problem Example: knowing they are keeping their aiptasia in control with fish or have treated their tank with copper. Yes you can get a pest from buying from a place that sells rocks from the ocean, but I feel that is a safer rock.

Have a wonderful day!

The thing that I loved the most about this Poly filter media is that it not only effectively filters out contaminants from the water but also changes color to tell you what chemicals it filtered out from your tank. It removes harmful organic materials, ammonia, phosphates, and heavy metals. This filter can work with both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Unlike other brands of filter media, this does not break down in saltwater.
