black/brown algae?

i have a black/brown powder looking substance on my floor bed. i tried to clear it up but looks like it's making it's way back to the same amount. i'll have to take take photos to have better verification but i haven't heard/seen/read anything about this type of algae or problem while skimming multiple boards.
