Blonde tragedy

Well my blonde naso maybe dieing... I have had him for about 3 months now and he has always been good. Ate good, always look healthy. Well I am thinking he must have a parasites of some type. In the last three days he has gotten extremely thin. You can see his ribs thin.. All my other tangs look great very fat and happy.

I took him out of the tank tonight and put him in a 29 gallon qt tank. Thank god I recently set this up. I took some pictures with my phone. Hard to tell from them but he is very thin. I hope since he is in the qt he will start to eat again. He would always eat right out of the turkey baster. I put it in front of him today and nothing. Well I have my fingers crossed!

Is he still eating or not? In QT do a Prazipro treatment ASAP. If it is internal parasite it will help.
Also how is the poop? Is it like a white string?

He ate a little when I put some green algae in the tank but it was not much. I have not notice if he pooped. What are you saying I should put in the tank? Were can I get it, tomorrow I will stop and buy it if I can get it locally. What would it mean if there was white strings in his poop?

White string poop is sign of internal parasite. Buy Prazipro. I know petsmart sells it now. I am out else I would give you some.

Ok I will get it tomorrow, thanks! Sucks he was definitely one of my favorite fish. Hope he turns around!

I say 2 weeks to allow him to put on the calories. He and the rest of the crew will have to work out the social hierarchy no matter when you reintroduce him, why not make sure he is at fighting weight.

Thanks I will give him 2 weeks. I was thinking about adding some other fish to keep some aggression down.

Maybe introduce him at night to lower the stress of the new guy. I wouldn't add new fish unless they have been QT'ed first to make sure they don't add to it all.

I was thinking same thing. I was thinking getting another new fish qt both of them together then add them both together. It would add another week or so for my blonde to go back into my display.
