Breakout Box vs Consumer All in One ATO

For this new build I afforded my self a lot of space under my tank. I currently
have a nice 20 Gal XT ( 20 X 10.5X 23.5) ATO tank made of glass. Previously I
was using a JBJ ATO that is going to be on my cube moving forward. This leaves
me with the option of

A. ) DIY an ATO from Neptune to work with my
Apex

Breakout Box $40
Pump $30 (Maxijet because Tom's Aqualifter
Sucks)
10 Dollars Tubing for Pump
Float Switches from DA (Because they
come with Acrylic holders) $45

That puts me around $115 +
Shipping

Pros: I can use the other ports on the breakout box to maybe
monitor my ATO Container, or my Skimmer Cup, or other things.

Cons: I
have to solder my own wires for the ATO Switches. The Acrylic holders will have
to be modded to fit my sumps Lip. The float switches are subject to getting
STUCK, Salt Buildup, Macro Algae Clogged or simply getting
stuck.

B.) AutoAqua Smart ATO - Auto Top Off System
149.99

Pro: Optical sensor with no moving parts to get clogged or stuck.
Small footprint and powerful magnet. Comes complete with a DC pump and Hose
including holding bracket for the sump/water return.

Cons: Not as
versatile as the breakout box. I won't be able to use it to monitor other things
like skimmer cup etc. It does not have a ATO container
monitor.

Which would you guys choose?

How about the breakout box with an avast ato kit and a max jet or what ever power head you have laying around? 40 for the breakout and around 80 for the avast pressure switch and mounting bracket. No mechanical float switches to get stuck. I just installed one and I'm very happy with it.

breakout box. possibilities are endless.

you can also get a pressure sensor like the ones avast marine uses, more expensive than the float sensor but more depenendable.

I'm currently using the DA switch. I only bought one and got another float switch seperately since one bracket can hold two switches. I used those twist caps for electrical wiring to attach longer wires for the switches to reach the breakout box. I also wrapped it with electrical tape for more protection. Works like a charm.

I have it set it up that it will email me if the ato is on for more than 20 mins. that's when I know I need to fill my top off container.
