BRS RODI or AWI RODI?

My airwaterice typhoon filters look like they need replacing based on my tds meter. I don't have any spares and we don't have any group buys in the future with airwaterice, just BRS.

So...my question is for all the AWI owners - is it ok to use any filters? I noticed AWI suggests a 10 micron, 5 micron and 1 micron filter, plus DI.

The BRS equivalent appears to be a 5 micron sediment, 5 micron carbon, 1 micron carbon plus refillable DI.

I just don't want purchase something and realize it doesn't fit. If I can leverage the upcoming BRS GB in August so much the better. Not sure I want to wait though given the tds readings are no longer 0.

Hey while we are talking about RODI...I ordered a 75 GPD membrane and Gotham gave me a 100 GPD with a restricter...where in Gods green earth do I put the restrictor?:anyone

The restrictor goes on the waste water line. I don't know why they did that. Supposedly the 100gpd membrane has a worse rejection rate then the 75.

He didn't have one to bring to the swap so he substituted it. Thanks for how too...I never went to 100GPD because as you suggested I thought they didn't do as well.

Just curious but don't you have a restrictor on the system already. The 75GPD also need one just a different size.

ALL working systems with an RO membrane have a flow restrictor. If you've never seen it, it is probably a capillary flow restrictor INSIDE your waste water tube. If you'd like we can email you a set of instructions.

And yes - at the same pressure the 100 gpd membrane has a substantially lower rejection rate - you'll get water faster but you'll burn through your DI resin faster. Here are some spec's on membranes commonly used in this hobby:

and some info about how rejection rate affects DI resin life:
