I have had my bta for about a month now. Since day 1 it has been opening its mouth really wide and completely deflating to where I can see the rock it is on through its mouth. It does this usually once every other day, sometimes it will do it a couple days in a row. This happens for about 30 minutes to an hour and then it inflates again and looks great. It is eating fine. I feed silversides twice a week. For lighting I have a current nova extreme 8x54w on my 72gal bowfront with a 10 gallon sump and a 10 gallon refugium. My water parameters are all almost perfect except for a PH swing from day to night which I hopefully remedied with the addition of a refugium on opposite light cycle of the main tank.
