Bubble Algae Beast

I had picked up bubble algae a couple months ago from frags I had picked up (no names mentioned), and was then very vigilant in plucking these emerald gems out of the tank every time I say them. About 2-3 weeks ago I thought I had them beat. Today I look in the tank and see this beast sticking its head out of the clove polyps. What a monster! What is the secret of finally getting rid of this stuff?

If you find a true working solution for bubble alage, please let me know! I also get them from time to time but they do seem to go away and come back...no idea why...

Don't bother with emerald crabs. The only thing that's worked for me is a siphon. Hold it over the bubble and then pop it. All the spores get sucked out.

Now we are talking some useful advice. I’m not sure how this is going to get rid of my bulb algae problem, but maybe after a few martinis...who cares!

Again, good advise! I’m nursing number two right now. One more and I’m cured…or something is cured…who cares. Now where did I leave that jar of olives?

my brother had the Red variety and the henochious and hippos ate it all. now the few pieces i did have i plucked off or popped and havent seen any but those darn majanoes are a different story!

I had a bad case that was starting to taking over and I just kept hammering away with phosban, some siphoning as Bob (magic) pointed out and it started whiting out and eventually dissappeared altogther. Whew.

could be worse - could be byropysis.... of the two i dealt with ba via siphoning. And I also got it from a former sponsor on this board. dumb dumb of me to intro it. I was like - awww a few little algae bubbles- no big deal, just scrape off, blast with RO water and intro.

anyways - problem is gone.

now bryopsis remains. Swear there are days you want to tear it all down. Instead I should just buy stock in Kent, makers of tech M.
