Hey guys got a few questions about my bubble magus protien skimmer and maybe skimmer in general related questions.
To start with I am not 100 precent sure what model my skimmer is but I can find out at a later time. I've been using the skimmer for a few month's now but I am constantly having trouble getting to steadily produce a nice fine foam. I figure part of the problem is the flucuation in my tanks water level which ill soon iron out but still when I keep the water level regular I either get mostly water in,the,collection cup or water high up the stem of the skimmer,with fine,bubbles that dont build up and just pop not collecting and,spilling,over the edge. Playing with the adjustment knob it seems to be labeled in,reverse because on the lowest setting I get water pouring in and,pm,the highest setting I get nothing . somewhere just in between, 1 and 2 on the adjustment knob is the sweet spot.
So questions how much water should the skimmer sit in depth wise?
How much air should be feed into the skimmer via this little chamber like device with a air hole in the top? Ive seen some videos of people actually pumping air into there mechanical skimmers
