Ca Reactor Questions

OK I setup my Korallin Calcium reactor today and I have a few questions. I have a PH controller hooked up to it with the probe in the chamber. What should the PH be set to? I currently have it at 7.2 but the tank PH seems to be dropping as a result. Normally the tank is at 8.0 - 8.2 but now it seems to have dropped down to 7.9. I am running roughly 40 drops per min out of the reactor. I am guessing this is where the Kalk reactor comes into play.. Is there any other way to keep everything happy? All the corals / fish seem to be doing great. Any advise would be great.
Thanks

Welcome to my world. This is exactly how we ended up dripping Kalk through a reactor. Setting the reactor PH to 7.2 sounds a bit high if it is in chamber (I'd think closer to 7.0). You could try slowing the effluent a bit.

another tip would be to run a fan over the effluent drip to help remove the excess Co2 going back into the water, which would help with the ph...

Ideally you want to find the happy mid point using both a kalk and CA reactor. Typically people can't drip enough kalk (not enough evap) to keep calcium/alkalinity at the proper levels so you go full bore on the kalk reactor and then use the calcium reactor to pick up the difference needed.

Going this approach should allow you to keep the pH up and meet the demands of your tank.
