does the unit have to be elevated from the sump how is this possible under main tank with all the plumbing under there? is there another way?

We run ours out of the sump, up on a shelf above the sump. My understanding of it is that the outlet to the skimmer needs to be above the water level of your sump.

I have mine elevated in the sump, if the outlet is not above the water you'll get back pressure. When I decided on the MRC 1, I planned around it, got the idea of a skimmer stand from Precision Marine http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...en=PROD&Product_Code=PM-ST-2&Category_Code=PM
used our resident acrylic master to make me one(thanks Rich). Here is how mine is set-up. I also have a custom stand to give me the necessary height needed.

Yes that's the pump that feeds the skimmer, I'm using a Blueline 40 HD External Water Pump, it feeds the skimmer through the injector located on left side of 1st and third pic(grey piece coming out of skimmer). I only clean the skimmer cup twice a month, it's removed by the white screws seen on the third pic(just loosen them and cup twists off), the injector is cleaned every other month same process with screws(seen in third pic).

has anyone ever had 1 injector then added the second? if so was it hard to do? and did it make a big difference? does everyone who responded so far have the two infusers?

I have a dual injector, I don't think it would be hard to add and additional injector if you end up just getting the one at first.

All you would have to do is add a T onto the feed line for the skimmer. It's pretty simple. You will however need a larger pump to handle the second injector. I'm running mine with an Iwaki 70.
