Can you tell me what's going on with this Green Slimer Frag

It almost looks like somebody took a knife and sliced the branch down the middle of it. Almost like a hot knife on butter. The only thing that I have changed is that I bumped the Radions from 60% to 75%. I figured since everything was growing like crazy if I increased the light I would increase the growth. Also there is a power head blowing directly on the side that looks melted away. I checked this morning and there is still excellent PE.

Another thing that just crossed my mind was that my ATO ran out about 2 days ago and I didn't think to check it so when I did the water was very low so the salinity was off. I bet the tank was about 3 gallons short if I had to guess.

Check your salinity ASAP and make sure it is inline. Also bump the radions down. 5% a week is good ramping, 15% at once can cause some issues.

I did turn them back down to 60%. I'll just leave them there. I will check the salinity when I get home. I try and keep it at 1.024

Aim for 1.026 that is natural sea water and what is pretty universally recommended to keep your tank at. I learned this lesson last year, long story short my refractometer was off so my salinity was off. This led to massive swings in alk and calc which led to coral death. Now I keep it locked at 1.026 and have calibration fluid to make sure my refractometer is correct.

I also moved the p head a little so it doesn't blow directly on it.

+1 on this. I too recently had an issue with low due to taking for granted my refractometer was accurate and just neglected to calibrate. Needless to say I was wrong and sg was around 1.021. Now I calibrate everytime I test sg.

I am due for a water change this weekend however since I never permanently mounted my RO machine I have been running the hose in my back window. Being that the temp has been in the teens I think I am going to have to get off my butt and set it up inside properly!

I just checked my calibration and it was good. My salinity is 1.025
