carnation and flower tree corals

I know these are very difficult corals to keep because of their constant need for phyto. Since my new 75 gallon tank will include a refugium and a dsb will it make these corals easier to keep. I guess I read that dsb's and refugiums keep producing zooplankton into the tank. I have had a xmas tree coral for nearly a year and have not direct fed it once. what are some opinions about this?

I've tried an Xmas tree coral & dendrophylia but I didn't have much luck with either.  I di have much better luck with a Tubastrea coral, but it was labor intensive to feed it every night.
