Changing the Carbon Block in your RO/DI system

How often should we do this guys? I just noticed that I needed to change my DI resin, but wile on the phone placing my order, I inquired about the carbon block... They said it should be changed every 6 Mos.

It this true, or do they just want to sell more filters? Hey, I believed em... I need to get one for stock anyway.

I think it all depends on how bad your water is going into it. The higher TDS the faster the filters will deplete, also putting a certain date range on filters is kind of silly, they don't know whether you're making 6 gallons a week or 600.

I usually change my filters when they visually look dirty, which is probably every 3 months or so for the first stage and 6 - 8 months for the second stage. When I start reading anything higher than 2 on my TDS meter I change out the DI.
