I don't know if this affects anything any differently than the chloramines, but given the working of the article I'd suspect it does.

wow thank you, i live in jamesburg and my tds went from 0 to about 4 a few weeks ago. I wonder if this has something to do with it.

I do not think so. I make 100G every week. TDS is same for me.

Actually it is better...I don't understand why they went backwards but chloramine is more stable and harder to get out.

Sorry not sure better is really the right word...easier to deal with.

sunny i do not think jamesburg and monroe have the same source for water. were you treating for chloramines?

for about a year i was making water as if i had chlorine in it. my tds was always reading about 3-7. then in june i read about chloramines checked with my water company and switched to different carbon and a chloramine block and was getting zero. its possible i am due to change some filters but the timing is spot on.
