Picked up a beautiful clam a month ago (from trop). Looked at it today and the flesh is withdrawn into the shell. It's usually fleshy and blue. Any ideas?

Well he's dead Jim. (Star Treck reference). Not sure why. His mantle is dark and almost black. What is left of it. Saw my sea star going after it late last night but I really think it was just eating the dying tissue. I moved it up ontop of some rock. ( was on sand bed). Did a lot of reading. Can't id any specific issue. No snails. 'Foot' was ok when he was bought.
