Closed Loop Design

I am looking for some ideas for Closed Loop for my 180g. The current plan I have is to use a Oceans Motions 4 way & a sequence dart. I would like to know if there are alternate ways to achieve this. Here are some of the starter questions.

1) I need five holes in the tank. right? Four holes for hooking up the OM and one for the return. Where are the holes need to be drilled? Top/middle/bottom? I would like the holes to be drilled at the back wall of the tank.

2) Is sequence dart quiet enough to run it in the living room or are there better pumps?

Thank you in advance
Arvind.

I actually have the same setup you are talking about on my 300. But I have 2 - 4 ways and 2 darts. Yes 4 return holes and 1 drain hole. When I was designing my tank I talked to Paul at Oceans Motions. He helped me with the layout and a whole bunch of questions. So I suggest you call him. My design is bascially a square with a return line in each corner. The drain line is in the back between the 2 corner returns. The trick is to make a cactus like shape with the return plumbing so you are not sucking from one pipe. That will cause fish and snails to get sucked in to your return line. Call Paul @ OM he will help you. If you have any questions feel free to call me. 856-371-1090 You can see pictures of my tank in the tale of the tank thread. If you look back further I think I had a thread when I was putting it all together and you can see the plumbing.

Good Luck.

Thanks Bill. I did look at your tale of the tank thread. Do you have the tank drilled in the bottom? I couldn't see where the pipes run in the picture. I will speak to Paul and see what he says and post here when I have more questions.

Btw, You have a great looking tank!

Thank You. That is correct the tank is drilled in the bottom. If that is not an option for you talk to Paul and he will steer you in the right direct.
