Clownfish caught in my overflow

Today when I woke up I noticed one of my fish was missing. I looked all around the tank and could not find him. Than I looked into my overflow and there he was just hanging out. He is a small clownfish maybe 3/4 of an inch and he slipped through the small hole that the return nozzle could rest on if they are all the way down. Now here is my problem: how do I get him out??? I got my small net in the overflow and began dropping some food in it for him to eat. He would not come up to the top because he was afraid of the net. I do not have much wiggle room in the overflow with durso pipe and the return line getting in my way. Please help!!!

Pull the Durso and catch him in the sump. Or use a larger, 1 or 1.5 inch, hose and siphon him out.

Matt, thanks for the advice. I drained the overflow and pulled the durso pipe and caught him when the water was almost empty.

Glad you got him out. I would be sure to cover that spot so he can't get back in the overflow.
