Dude,
Keep the tank as a 'pest tank' and don't do anything to it, just run an ato and throw any odd frag or piece of rock in it.
Started my pest tank 2 years ago with some aptasia, no water changes, no skimmer, no fuge.
Two years later I have some insane mushrooms, multiple types of zoa, and an excruciating amount of pulsing xenia, which is mesmerizing to watch, and a number of rock anems.
The tank I haven't done a water change in in 2 years is more interesting at this point than my 120 display.
Jump on board man!

it all depends on how much room I have once I get and setup the new tank. otherwise, you might get donations for your pest tank hahahaha

If you don’t have corals. I would kill everything. I would turn off the lights. Fish don’t need light and it will kill a lot of pest. You need to kill aptasia before it gets out of control. You don’t want any of that in the new tank.

I won't be using anything from this tank. only the fish will be put in the new tank. nothing else. I have all new rock, sand, skimmer, heaters, powerheads, for new setup

Hey I am interested in your pests when you are ready to get rid of them. Especially ones attached to any rubble you may have. I have a project in mind for students to keep a mini reef in a mason jar. I just need to figure out the lighting challenge. I was thinking Aiptasia, but Mojanos might be more interesting to the kids.
