Clownfish spawning on glass

Hello Everyone!

Ok, it's been a very long time since I've been here, I joined many years ago and life has been busy. Here's my question.

Is there any way to get my clownfish to stop spawning on the glass?

I feel so bad when I have to do a water change.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Can you just put something there inbetween spawns, like a tile. Then you can simply move it, and you don't have to feel bad.

It's in a bad spot in the back of the tank about 3" under the waterline. Ugh they are silly creatures.

One would think they would have learned by now.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Some breeders have had good luck with using a small flower pot. The clowns like the security of it and they will spawn in there. It is tough once they choose their spot, but as jgraz mentioned a tile would work well too.

Do you have a sump or another area you could take the water from that would not drop the water level?

How about maybe just leaning a piece of clear acrylic (plexiglass) in the location they spawn? Then, before the water change, just rotate the sheet sideways so the spawn is lower in the water.

PS - Welcome back to the club!

That's actually good idea. I will try it next time, already did a water change.

I don't know why it bothers me, they all become fish food any way.

Thanks!
