Coaline Algae Die Off

Over the last few weeks I've notice that a large portion of the Coraline Algae on the back of my tank, and overflow chambers is dying off. The only changes that I've done, which seem like an unlikely cause, is, I've swapped out my LED's for a T-5 fixture, and I started to use the BRS kalkwasser. I noticed that that BRS uses a pharmaceutical grade of kalk, and the Mrs. Wages was a food grade, and somewhat whiter in appearance. Other than those, my routine hasn't changed. Any thoughts?

All water param's are spot on, and all inhabitants are healthy.

My coralline always used to die off when I changed out my halides... Didn't like the extra light? Seemed ironic, but it was predictable.

Yea, between the two possibilities, I was thinking it could be the light. But, I went from a MH fixture to the LED's with no noticeable change in the coraline, this has been dramatic.

I switched from Mrs. Wages to Seachem & Two Little Fishes Kalk and had no changes in my heavy coraline growth. I did the switch a few years ago. Still growing like crazy. I'm not sure how the BRS compares to the Seachem & TLF. I have MH's with VHO's and never really have problems even after changing bulbs. How about salt? Have you switched brands anytime in the last few months or so?

Not only is it the same salt (RC), but it's the same batch. So, I ruled that out early. I'm pretty well convinced that its the difference in the light fixture. I'm hoping that it will grow back.

Yep the T-5's did it. Changes in lighting can bleach coralline.

I had the most growth under PC's and almost no growth and bleaching under 4x39W T-5's & 2x 150 MH's.
