Comcast Being Comcastic!

Does anyone else ever get a problem with comcast where certain websites will NOT load no matter what(2 i know most are Google and paypal for me) It happens randomly all of a sudden and usually goes away a few days/week later.

I dont know Vista commands to reset or flush the DNS server (tried and windows basically said it didnt feel like doing any work right now and went to make a snack instead)

Any other computer savvy people out there know how to fix this? ive Pinged google in the cmd prompt and it seems to have a connection but neither firefox nor IE or even opera want to load certain websites.

Have you tried in a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your Temp ie files also, and re-boot.

You may get the message "the requested operation requires elevation" if so:

You'll need to run cmd.exe as an Administrator. To do this, go to Start and type in "cmd" (without the quotes) in the search box at the bottom - THEN, click on start again, and you'll see command prompt listed, right click on it and select "Run as Administrator".

Yes i have that was the first thing that came to mind. Upon entering that command i receive "The requested operation requires evaluation" and then it just stops

Alrighty well that didnt work (thanks for the tip about starting as admin, didnt know that needed to be done first)

I might try opendns or something of that sort. if it doesnt work ill hope that comcast has a better solution then reset your router.

i just did opendns and google and paypal now load fine (actually all pages seem to load faster :p ) AIM and trillian still do not want to load so im going to reboot again and hope for the best
