I did a new screen on my kids Apple…..same thing….cracked screen because she sat on her computer.

It was very easy to do. First do a search on DIY screen replacement for your computer. The video for the Apple was concise and clear. You carefully pry off the frame on the screen, pull the old screen out and unplug...and just reverse putting the new screen in. I purchased a new screen on-line as well.

Again, easy fix that you can do.

Is it that simple? I will look into it Paul thanks. I do know you are the king of diy though lol. Simple coming from you should be taken with a grain of salt :p

How simple it is will depend on the way it was manufactured. Most will be as easy as Paul described, but there are some that may be a bit more complicated based on options like speakers, web cams, etc that are built into the monitor... which will require more wiring.

I'd start with a search on the availability of the replacement screen and that should give you a good indication of how easy it is. If you can't find any then chances are it's not an easy diy. If you find a bunch then you know it's doable.

Thanks guys I found a bunch of screens and also many videos. Seems very simple. Thanks for the heads up. Im goona give it a shot

Replacing the screen is not that hard. Only takes about half hour, or an hour if it's your first time. Use the tip of an Exacto knife to carefully remove the screw hole covers if you want to reuse them.

You should only need a precision screwdriver set. You can get them from HD or Radio Shack if you do not have a set already.

make sure to NOT buy those cheap ones... stay away from dollar store or anything under $5 for a whole set...

it will mess up your screw...
once your screw got screw? you wont be able to remove or put them back in...
