So i have a 180 sps tank with an attached Cal Rx. Ive been using salinity but starting to consider that i dont need it b\c of the Cal Rx. Is this a correct assumption? if so would you recommened switching to IO (assuming the Cal Rx will dose trace elements as well) or Reef Crystals?

All thoughts and opinion welcome..... Thanks !!!

I have always used IO. Like Paul said it's ocean water so it should have the trace elements. ALK is about 11 but with 10% WC this is used up quickly.

I'm with Paul and Horseplay. I've used IO for almost 20 years. They have the formula correct, one of the more reasonable price wise, I've never had an issue in that time period. I maintain Calc and Alk using two part and Kalk dosing.

Not to sound like a broken record but I use IO also. Dose to maintain and all is well. With the reactor in your case and dosers in mine it's just not worth the money to throw at these higher priced salts.

Instant ocean, 2part to needed levels. Much cheaper and with more freq water changes much better growth.

I use RC because that is what I started with and it worked. I tried a couple other types of salt and just had problems so went back to what worked. I don't dose much FYI.
