Check out what my buddy found in his dredge while scalloping about 40 miles offshore in about 230-260ft of water. So cool looking,, wonder how long it’s been down there. It’s made of brass I believe and it’s kinda heavy (over 5lbs) and they don’t make things like this anymore,, lots of detail
I have it soaking in a tub with 2 gallons boiling hot water and quart of vinegar. It’s already 60% clean I also added a air stone

Check it out now after soaking only in vinegar and water for 24hrs then a Lil brushing, need to get a brass polish and make it sparkle. I don’t think it’s all that old seems machine pressed but well made n heavy

I thought of that but my OCD is telling me to make it shiny but I really like the way it is now. I have idea of how I’m going to mount it

So first is a before followed by a after then what I’m thinking of doing. I have this left over piece from the cabinet top Morortrendz made me and I saved it because I knew it would be useful

Those little 3 leaf things near the directions are fleur-de-lis, a French style of metalwork.
You ought to get it appraised, maybe its off an old French ship (they did lend us a lot during the Revolution).

Sounds cool but it’s machine pressed so wouldn’t it not be that old. IDK but I already have idea what I’m gonna do with it
