Coraline Algea turns pink then dies

Iv noticed that over the last 3 weeks my coraline algea would have a small circle with slime on it, it turns fluorescent pink, and then turns white and dies.It seems to spread to a larger circle and now its a 6 inch circle thats dead on the back wall towards the top to middle of the tank . What do you think this is from everything is stable in the tank and the corals are extremely happy, Do you think me replacing the old t-5s with new ones is causing it?

It kind of looks like that and i dont have a camera to take a picture. lets say worst case scenario is i do have that disease what should i do, i changed my t5 bulbs which im guessing thats what caused it. it isnt happening to any of the coraline that is on the rock.

I think if all of your parameters are good and stable, and your corals and fish are healthy, then leave things as they are.

Sounds like this is a issue in the reefs at large because it inhibits reef building. But in a home aquarium, so what?

If you want to give a boost to your coralline, make sure your mag is good as well as the CA and Alk. Maybe cure and add some new live rock to seed more coralline, but I wouldn't react to this too quickly.

The water level of when i do a water change only drops 2 inches and the coraline started dying way under this, i was told flow which could be a possibility however the slime is getting pushed by a lot of flow when it is present.
