Today I did a large maintenance on my tank. Replaced the GFO, the carbon, swap filter sock, clean skimmer, water change, etc.. As I was powering everything back up my main return pump did not turn back on. I was concerned that it took a dump but pulling it out and doing a very good cleaning go it up and running again. Might still pick up another pump just to have waiting.

I currently running a Rio 1700 as my return pump. Does anyone recommend a different pump I should look
at?

Thanks

Been running my jebao dc6000 on my 57 rimless for over 2 years. At about 1.5 years the power supply crapped out on me. Luckily I had a power supply from a dc skimmer pump laying around. Think I'm going to get a vectra m1 eventually. Not that the jebao is a bad pump I'm just looking for something a bit better.

I was going to go with vectra as well, but i heard apex was coming out with a pump, so since i have the controller i figured i'd wait for that, and hoping my waveline pump will make it to that mark, lol. Quiet and i have had 0 issues with it, but apparently some mixed reviewed on it.

it'll look nice n clean with the pvc tubing. just get a bunch of unions n a check valve to be on the safe side
I agree it would look nicer. Also if I can use this pump (which I should be able to) to run my reactors plus be my return pump then I can pull my reactor pump off my controller and add this to it. I just don't know if I want to put the work into right now cause I have something in the works which, if goes well, might mean breaking down my tank

no not a bigger tank but I wish. Not sure if you heard me mention it at the meeting but I applied for a job in Colorado and I felt like I nailed the interview. I am just waiting to hear a response and if they offer it to me and the salary is where I need it to be I most likely be moving.

Hey best of luck and hope you get it! the DCT4000 should have no problem running your reactors and your return - those things can pump some water. I have a DCT6000 currently at the lowest setting pumping my return, cal reactor, and media reactor.

I was looking at the DCT6000 but it wasn't prime and they wanted over $100 for it even the DCT8000 was prime and cheaper than the 6000. I just figured the 8000 would had been too much for my tank
