I was cleaning my glass hole box and realized that the frame looks like it has a clean crack straight down. I felt around the glass and can't feel a crack or anything on the glass or around the bulkhead. Should I need to be concerned.

What I'd do is pick up some JB Weld (Walmart automotive area....about 5 or 6 bucks) and mix up some and fill the crack. I don't know if this epoxy would do much, except to make me feel like I did something.

It's hard to tell from the picture with all that blue...but this is the edge molding around the top of the tank....outer edge?

Yes. It is the edge trim not center brace. Looks like someone took an dremel to both sides of the trim. And avoid te glass. I can't see bak there but. I don't feel any glass cracks.

Personally, it would make me nervous because it was holding pressure off the seams. I would lower the water level and see if the gap/crack closes, if it does I would be concerned.

Well I removed half the water from tank and the 1/8 crack on the trim did not move. I measured the tank on all sides and all sides are even??? (Don't get this).

if you went that far you should give peace of mind and glue it . maybee use a acrilic rod underneth the break to form a splint (if it will fit)then glue.

Edwin, is this the only crack, or is there one on the front edge too? I can't imagine all sides being the same length if the is a crack on only one side.

Only way that could happen is if someone actually cut a sliver out on purpose (maybe to run a tube or powerhead wire or something?)....which would be a silly idea since that frame helps keep the walls from breaking away.

I'd definitely try to glue it and if possible, add a stiffner across the seam to help strengthen it.
