Is this the new trend? I see many power heads with this foam covering and just doesn't make sense to me.
It would need to be cleaned regulatory from dirt accumulation plus seems like a pain to perform this maintenance. Thoughts?

Yes to protect an anemone when they haven't settled into a location. That is a nice price with foam cover.
