custom rimless interest

im looking to custom order a 40g rimless and I dont want to go through glasscages. Will any of the LFS in NJ order me one? Have any of you tried this?

I got mine through John from Advance Acrylics in Califorinia. Great quality just be careful to check when you receive it as UPS has a bad habit of damaging it during shipping. Good luck and be sure to post pics when you do get one. I love rimless :)

For a 40 gallon I'd look all over, don't limit yourself to NJ i don't think shipping would be that bad? try tenecor, also I think hanover pets makes tanks, Think they changed their names to aquatic visions or somethin. RT 10 east hanover

I'm also interested in a custom rimless tank and from reading alot of threads on nano-reef.com it seems a common place to get well made tanks is some place called miracles aquariums in Canada. Apparently teh shipping isn't terrible as I'd expect and they do a very good job. When I decide on my rimless custom tank they're the first place i'm contacting.

i dont know what im going to do. I really want a rimless but i was told by absolutely fish that it would be over 500 bucks for a custon 40b. I dont need one that bad.

they havent gotten back to me yet, ive heard that you have to go through a dealer you cant but directly from Miracles

I got a quote from Miracles (72"x40"x22"), you can get the tank from them directly. They include shipping in their quote.

well guys, these rimless tanks really ARE crazy expensive. I got a quote from them just now for $538 for a 40B shipped to my door. The glass is 1/2 inch thick and starphire is an extra 50 bucks if i want it.

I also would have to unload it from the truck myself, lol.

Do you think that is crazy?

$500+ sounds crazy when glasscages website has them listed in the $115 range, having to pay the 60$ plus drive to Bethlehem to pick it up sucks but even if you add starfire glass it's still only $250ish w/ the pickup charge.

I've heard many horror stories about glasscages tanks leaking and coming out with a terrible silicone job. Do you have one of their tanks? Its so tempting to go with them for their prices but i want something that is really well built.
