Cyclops Shark

REEFLECTIONS said:
i'm saying hoax... that eye is not a sharks eye.

I agree. I believe I read that they were checking to see if it's a deformed nasal cavity or something to that nature. I think it would have made bigger news if it was an eye. ;D

I think it's a hoax too. If you look at the side pic, it looks like the "eye" is right where a mouth should be. The front looks too boxed off, like they filled it in with putty or something to hold in the eye.

Then look at the mouth in the other pic. That's a weird looking jaw for a shark. It almost looks like they sliced open the skin to look like a mouth... and where are the teeth?

And I agree that is no shark eye ball. ::)

I still call BS. That eyeball is NOT a sharks eyeball!

Besides that, look at the size of that cyclops (which was supposedly unborn, found in the womb of a mama dusk shark).

Now take a look at this juvenile new born dusk shark:

Juvenille-dusky-shark.jpg

That cyclops is waaaaaay too big to be not even born yet.

George – it’s mutated – and the part you’re taking issue with the characteristics of the eyeball... what about the fact that it has a “cyclops single” eyeball??? I figure if a cyclops shark mutation could manifest itself, there would be other mutations that would come along for the ride – i.e., larger size of the “fry”? juvenile and the size of the eye (maybe both associated birth defects). Just sayin’ – it’s presented as mutated SO likely in more than one way. I wouldn’t just assume it’s not a hoax (and agree to question the validity) but also wouldn’t assume that because certain parts seem out of the ordinary, that translates to illegitimate

also, the legit juvi pictured above could have been "harvested" at a different stage of development than the cyclops was

foxnews/cnn/ms/huff post all trawl the web for news articles. This is actually an article from livescience which fox reposted.

Honestly most of the news you read is from the associated press or reuters etc. The main hubs (cnn/fox etc) pick and choose what they want to headline.

I still see zero evidence. They have a quote from a real researcher who says that "cyclops" is possible. Duh.

But it's the people spamming the web with the photos that say the researcher is "close to" publishing an article.

until a journal actually publishes something this is still a hoax to me.

The author of this supposed true article:

Stephanie has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina and a graduate certificate in science writing from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Maybe she thinks it's true too - but unless she has a background in zoology/biology - she may not know the difference between a dusky shark and a redtail shark from the amazon.

So she may actually question if coconuts truly migrate
More to the point, I doubt she's aware of the migratory patterns of the African swallow
