Dehumidifier Recall

While at the meeting I noticed the dehumidifier that looked a lot like mine.
The company GREE that makes them is recalling boatload of models.
I will give you the website and some model numbers. Basically you call and they ask you model number etc and then if you qualify
they send you a bag with some parts you have to cannibalize your dehumidifier...then they send you a check.
So the website is www.greedehumidifierrecall.com or call 1-866-853-2802.
The following brands from 2005-2012: Danby, Fellini, Kenmore, Seabreeze, De'Longhi, Frgidair, Norpole SoleusAir, Fedders, Gree, Premiere, and Super Clima.
Basically some get really hot....and well they don't tell you what happens but you get the idea.

Geewiz James, can’t you give me some good news….like I’ve just won the lottery!


I’m sitting in the room with the dehumidifier running almost always at this time of year. And now I’m down on my hands and knees checking the model and serial number for this Frigidaire that I have:

Woo Hoo….lucky for me it’s not a Gree!

Some of the Frigidaire are made by them. Don't know how old it is though that one doesn't look like mine.

I saw that Frigidaire's were on the list....that's what got me on my hands and knees. But my model (FSD704DUD, and serial number KN12411490), weren't on the list. Actually the Serial had to start with a "1" for it to be a Gree for the Frigidaire's.

A bit OT, but how has your dehumidifier been working for you? I really need one and this model and a similar Kenmore were the one's I was looking at. Both were around $200-250 price range. I got a $200 Sears gift card I need to spend before that company implodes.

I’m happy with it….it does its job. My interests were Energy Star rated and decent capacity. My only complaint is that it is a bit loud.
