Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.

I always look at what companies could have done to resolve this.
they could have offered a different tank or cash value instead.

that would be very illegal since njreefer is not for profit.
the money from a charity should not be deposited or used with the business money

As I mentioned before. The BOD was made of aware of this delay over the past two months. We are is aware of the situation and advocating on behalf of Del. My loyalty is always to my constituents. However here are the options
1. no tank no ACC
We continue down this very public thread and piss off john and ACC and he-stops cooperation and del gets no tank
2. We play ghandi a little and trust that he will make good and amend future raffle terms to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Either way this thread may be hurting more than helping the situation by rattling the nest so to speak.
again the tank is del’s I personally don’t want to be responsible for not getting him the tank so I m working trust me like you’ve had over the past years. I’m just working silently with john instead ofgoing postal which will serve no purpose for anyone.

Well since I paid about $40 in tickets and I volunteered and help that day. I think I should be able to have an opinion

wow!! I just saw this !! I'm a patient guy. my wife just laughs about it. its funny because I have hospital directors, pharmacists, my wife's boss, friends that aren't even into reefing...all ask me about the tank!! a few said it was all a scam. some say its a joke. others said......not gonna say that here. but I appreciate you all looking out for me. ill keep everyone posted with what we decide. NJRC family for life!!
ACC is an established and well-respected business and I’m sure there was no shady intent or scam that was intended here. They deserve the benefit of the doubt in that regard.
However, I don’t think it’s right for a vendor to raffle off something that’s not in their possession unless those terms were specified up front. Or if the scenario is that the prize was found to be defective and needed to be replaced, then the funds should have already been set aside to obtain that replacement. That money shouldn’t be used for any other vendor expenses without getting permission from the winner first.
If Del says he‘s fine with waiting for delivery (or if the store offers some compensation that he’s willing to accept), then it’s all good. Essentially, that would be the same thing as going to a store or restaurant in the early days of the pandemic and buying a gift card - you’re essentially helping the business out by giving them a loan to get through the rough period.
We all understand that these are tough times and hopefully we try to help each other out a little. That includes supporting our LFS and local businesses. I’ve been trying to buy more of my supplies from the LFS instead of saving some money through Amazon. But I also think it’s important that we all respect the commitments we make to others including upholding business obligations.

john is a good guy, i met him prior to joining the club. we are not best friends. we are not even friends. i doubt he knows my name.
from my business dealings with him, i believe he will make good. as far as delay, that's understandable considering everything. and yes a lot of businesses are going under so there is absolutely no doubt that we want ACC to remain open. really if you want to help this situation... stop in at ACC and buy something. Let them know the reef club supports their business while you're there.

at this point I’d be very surprised if this tank is ever delivered.
