looking into getting a new digital camera without breaking the bank. i think i might have it narrowed down to 3. looking for some input/experience.

Have you checked out the reviews at www.dpreview.com ? I'd check there to see what they had to say about the trio and go from there. You should also be able to find user opinions if yo look around enough.

for that price point, why not this? An actual Digi-SLR? (I would add the Canon DSLR, but they start at $599)

I've never played with that particular Model Olympus, but I have a small point and shoot by them and it works great. I take it underwater as well and does AVI video.

i think an slr will be to complicated for me and my wife LOL i cant even remeber names of corals :

This is the point and shoot I have. I love it, extremely easy to get a nice shot, really big LCD on the back, and it takes killer video. Clear enough I can watch on my 42" tv without distortion. It is a few years old so you can definitely find it for a really good price.
