DIY Kalkwasser/Drip System

I was researching dripping Kalkwasser into my tank when I came across a cost saving way of making your own kalkwasser/drip system.

I was wondering what you thought of the following two articles:

i have a 210 gallon tank that i'm thinking of dripping this homemade concoction of kalwasser from a 1 gallon gatorade bottle into my sump directly above my return pumps.

Has anyone had any experience with doing this?

I don't use pickling lime, I use kalk from coralife, but I made that drip system and it works great for me. I don't have a sump, so i have to put it above my tank on a shelf, doesn't look the best, but gets the job done.
