DIY T5 hybrid fixture UPDATE KESSIL!

Thought I’d share this...bought the 6 bulb t5 fixture for 140 free shipping off Amazon. All ATI bulbs.

One blue actinic LED from eBay and one white led from eBay. For 70 each shipped.

Just added the LEDs today, I will take a pic with it on the tank tonight.

p.a. Don’t mind the holes in the reflector, I am
Installing moon lights.

So I finally saved up my nickels and bought an AP700. I removed the two inner t5 bulbs, cut out the cross member, made some aluminum brackets for the kessil. I can’t be happier with the results and the price hhaha.

Yes! AP700’s and Taylor ham. Love my Kessil shimmer, even my wife noticed and commented.

Nice that’s the same set up I have over my fragtank.
I used the aquatic life t5 fixtures and a AP700 in the middle.

Nice love mine T5 hybrid setup. It's so bright I only run the T5 for 4 hours until my SPS settles in.

Aquatic Life does have fixtures in a size that holds 4 60" T5 bulbs. Unfortunately, the lighting industry has yet to discover a way to dim 5' T5s, so you'll have to settle for a 60" non-dimmable fixture.
