Does anyone replace the mud in their Refugium?

I remember hearing that the mud in a refugium should be replaced every a year. Is this true? If so why? I'm coming up on a year and was thinking of doing it.

Aaron which Mud are you using? I use ecosystems and your only supposed to replace half after 2 years the the other half a year later and so on.

Tom I used Miracle Mud. I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything on it. Are you going to the meeting? I still have those nuclear greens for you.

Hi Aaron, unfortunately I don't think I'll be making it :'( We'll have to hook up one of these days, I still have a chalice for you also.
