does anyone ride quads?

i have an 86 suzuki 250R that i rebuilt after a crash wrecked it. it has been sitting in my garage for for about 2 years because i nolonger have a place to ride.
i was wondering if anyone else rode off-road and where and when they ride.
i have been thinking of selling it but would rather get back into ridding.

be safe ....al

Riding my buddies 660R raptor scared the quad outta me!! That silly thing made power in every gear at every speed. I guess it didn't help that I rode it in a wooded area... "trees don't lose", was all I kept saying to myself!

yea trees don't lose...i rode for years without a helmet and what an ass i was for doing it(i grew up on a farm in NC and learned to ride at age 9 on a Honda 50, and we never even thought about wearing helmets back then)
a few yaers ago a friend of mine crashed my 250R into a 8 inch round tree at 40-50mph with no helmet on, almost killed him and it destroyed the front end suspension and frame. the tree was hit so hard the roots were pulled from the ground.
it took me 2 years to even think of rebuilding it and then another year of free time to find parts and fix it up.

LESSON LEARNED......NEVER RIDE WITHOUT A HELMET!!!!!

Al,
I heard that there is paid admission park, for lack of a better term, to ride off-road vehicles. I think its in Wall. I have no idea of the name. My son's friend keeps asking him to go and I won't let him.

i have heard of that place and one other i know that are leagle to ride in nj ... as of right now there is no state land to ride on and the only leagle places to ride is either private land , english town raceway( they open the motorcross track to atv's on weekends) $50 or $60 per rider per day ,and there is an off road park near long beach island ,in the pine-barrens somewhere and i heard it's $75 or $80 per day, per rider......i was looking for either someone with land to ride on or another club to join...i have heard of riding clubs that rent land from farmers and sutch and then it is leagle because your not tresspassing..but most are in the extreme north or in PA. and thats like a
2-hour trip for me.
both me and my step son ride and those prices get expensive if you want to ride every weekend

in New Jersey , Jersey city free and open to the public . Bring a helmit just in case the police come by to check but they dont bother if you being decent and just having fun PM me if you need directions

are you talking about the swamp by the meadowlands?
i use to ride out there when i lived in seacaucus. it would be closer but is it leagle? i have a few friends that had there rides impounded for being on state property(tresspassing)it cost ther like $500 for impound , storage and tickets.

We (my father really) have a 101 acre farm up in Columbia, New Jersey (Warren County- 10 minutes from the next NJRC meeting).

We have quads, a golfcart, paddleboats, tractors, and we used to have dirtbikes. It was fun when I was younger but now I don't have time to do any of it. I've been up there twice in the last year, once to bail hay and the other for a BBQ with my family.

I was going to go up there before the next meeting during the day and then go to the meeting from there.
