Just a small update on the tank. Not sure what the cause is or a combo of all three, but between getting rid of the bryopsis, adding the skimmer with the extra air coming in from the outside, and also me no longer working from home(my office was in the fish room), my ph is looking much better.
Just note that on the 11th and 12th there were parties for my sons birthday, so each day had about 12 extra people in the house

Not much has changed in this shot, there was some moving around with corals, added a miagi tort that you can't see just yet, and the brown actor colony is starting to lighten up. What I'm seeing though is my sps start to really take off.

Looking unbelievable Art. It just amazes me that one-an-done treatment of fluconazole wiped out your hypnosis after two weeks. To the best of my knowledge, you were the first club member to give this a go. I also know your experience with this wonder drug was shared (probably unbeknownst to you) over on R2R, because they where too skeptical to try it on their own without some proof it wouldn't hurt their tank.

I wasn't the one who discovered this, so I can't take credit for it, just for being a test dummy, and quite honestly I was a month or two away from shutting down the tank for a bit, I even talked with my wife about it, so if anything happened with the tank or it didn't work, I didn't have much to lose. It's quite a relief, I can actually sit back and enjoy the tank now. I've never been able to since I've been in this hobby, I've had this hell since i started, I'm just stubborn, lol. Yes, it's an amazing feeling.
I took that after vacuuming it up, it's still a small issue, but easy to control for now until I fix the cause.
Some sad news, my purple fire fish has been hiding a lot lately, I didn't think much of it, but saw him moping in the sand today and realized he's at the end here. Just found out their average lifespan is 4-6 years and I have had him for 4 years now, and he wasn't a baby when I got him. One of the first fish that ever went into my tank, one last pic of him.

Always tough losing a fish. At least he/she had a great life in your tank. Sorry for your loss.
