So I've been shopping for a tank. I got quotes for a 72x30x29 (271 gallons) starfire glass with an external coast to coast overflow
from several internet vendors, one was 2975 from glass cages and 3765 from Reef Savy. Today I toke a tour of 4 LFS's that do saltwater
ending up the tour at Tropicquarium in Ocean Township, NJ.
At each of them I priced tanks.. Tropicquarium beat everyone with a 302 gallon 72x36x27 Starfire glass at roughly 1400+ tax.
Big difference!! The only draw back for me is it doesnt have the coast to coast. It has 2 corner overflows.
I know people consider the coast to coast the best, but is it really worth 1500 extra? I'm sure it skims better but I have to
believe that the dual corners would do the job? 1500 savings would pay for everything to get me cooking.. rock, sand, sump,
skimmer, salt, pump. Tropicquarium said we could put together a package deal for more savings.
What do you think? Go for the 300? Or am I being pound foolish?
Thanks,
Mike
