EARTHQUAKE!!!

Just a little one, up here in Morris County last night (2/2/09) around 10:30. Anyone else feel the earth move?

It was funny because around that time here there were salt trucks going through (!?) before snow even started and it was startling. Probably not as startling as the earth moving. Did you actually FEEEEL it? Or just hear about it? Did the water jiggle?

The funny thing for me is that I was watching TV and running it through the surround sound system, and I heard a low B-O-O-O-M and thought, "Wow, that subwoofer really kicks butt!," and then the sofa vibrated for about 10 seconds and I said now wait a minute...and I noted the time, for reference. The other thing is we are so close to Picatinny Arsenal that there are booms coming from there pretty often, just not at night. If at hd happened during the day I wouldn't have given it a thought.
No after effects for the reef tank, but I wish I had been watching when it happened, I bet the fish freaked out. Lazy dog didn't even lift his head up.

I was at Parsippany library at the time and i definetelyy feltt itt. Never experienced a earthquake before, it was kind of cool

Yeah we felt it too, the whole freaking house shook and scared the poop out of us. At first I thought it was the furnace/oil tank in the basement, then thought it might be an explosion at the fuel depot a few blocks away or an another truck accident on RT. 80. Then we saw it on the news. If that one was a 2.9 I'd hate to go through a 4 or 6.

"They" were saying that because our rock here is so dense the shock is transferred better and we feel it more. They made a correlation between our 2.9 and X.X from out west, but I don't remember what it was.
