I just wanted to stop by and say hello and let you know about a new club that was made to help join everyone together.
I was part of DVRC and felt that it alienated people outside the Philly area from joining and help one another out.

Please stop over and say hello.

Sorry you were unhappy at DVRC, i am still an active member there as are many others in this forum and I honestly believe that starting your posting at this place by criticizing another shows people what you are going to do when you are no longer happy with this forum.

For whatever it's worth i have been a member at DVRC for about two years and find it as helpfull to any reefer as any other forum, and it by no means alienates other people from outside of Philly, I invite anyone here to join and try it out for yourself.

Jay, please promote your forum, there is no need to do it while criticizing another, it makes you look like the kid that left the game and took the ball...very childish.

there are good and bad folks in every club. there are a few people i consider good friends at dvrc. i don't agree with everything they are doing, but i can say that some of the ugliness is dissipating. ;)

I can only speak from my experience but I see where you are coming from since I have read some of the discussions, etc.

I just don't believe that it is appropriate to promote one's own forum and at the same time take a stab at someone else. Why can't the post just be "I started an all inclusive forum that has as a main goal to unite all the tri-state reefers"? Why is there a need to bash someone else in the process.

I have left many forums and never took a stab at them, if I am not happy, I move on, just like any other group in life, if I don't fit in I leave, if I take a stab at them in public, maybe I am letting everyone one why I didn't fit in...

I agree with you. But I guess it can be human nature to act that way. This is just my opinion, Jay put a great deal of time and effort in that club and I guess he feels they did not appreciate it and are undoing some things he did.

I understand, I am not involved in any way other then using the forum for advice and fun, just like here in my New Jersey home, so I don't know any of the history involved, it would be better to end it there I guess.

I wish the new forum all the best and will gladly join if I am welcomed, I would just advise on being carefull when talking about other peoples work/forum/personal issues in a public area, that's all.

NJRC helped form DVRC we had much support . I chose to be part of a club that allows me to meet other reefers and join many clubs together, I am from LIRC and know many people in the hobby.

I made a post warning about a member that did something sick and scared my family. Is that wrong to warn people? Would you want someone like that in your home near your kids during a club meeting???

Remember its a hobby. lets enjoy it.

NJ is a very welcoming state they have the Jets and Giants and they are NY teams but play in NJ :p

The issue there Jay is that, you are bringing your personal issues into the hobby. The forums are about reef keeping not your personal battles with someone. Don't get me wrong here maybe what was said was not very PC, but if you could just drop it it would have never gotten there.

But I must ask, would you welcome myself and others to your new club?
I am truly sorry you no long want to be part of delval, but we are a club that wants to focus on the hobby and positive fun.
I hope you the best of luck, just remember it is about the hobby, never will you put 400+ people together and have perfect harmony all the time, but sometimes you just have to ignore thoses that you don't care for and not make it your goal in life to have them eradicated. (sp)
I will defend someone that I know and like and that I know is actually a good person no matter how you feel about him and he has a true passion for the hobby. He is the type of person that will do almost anything to help out where he can.

While the mods discuss the recent bru-haha, may I direct attention to the many other forums/threads NJRC has to offer??? ;D

I think personal differences aside we are all looking to promote reefkeeping in a sound manner with conservation as it's priority.

NJRC is proud to support and help our fellow clubs, be it eastcoastreefers, DVRC or CDMAS, CTARS, DRC (to name only a few).

Let's move on before i have to go find the drama llama picture.
